MDCFA IS DEDICATED TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER IN HARFORD CO. MD. IT WILL BE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL AND WILL NURTURE ART, ARTISTS AND COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING A BROAD RANGE OF CREATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE EXPERIENCES THROUGH QUALITY ARTS EDUCATION, PRESENTATION AND EXHIBITS IN THE DISCIPLINES OF MUSIC, DANCE, THEATER AND ART.

THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS AN ANNUAL BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL. THE TWO-DAY EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND FEATURES BOTH AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL BLUEGRASS BANDS.
THE ORGANIZATION HELD A PLEIN AIR ART EXHIBITION OVER SEVERAL DAYS IN SEPTEMBER, 2021. ARTISTS FROM VARIOUS STATES PARTICIPATED AND COMPETED FOR PRIZES. THE PUBLIC WAS INVITED TO VIEW AND PURCHASE THE ARTISTS' WORKS.
MARYLAND CENTER FOR THE ART'S PRIMARY GOAL IS TO CONSTRUCT A PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (THEATER, AMPI-THEATER AND RELATED BUILDINGS) ON 44 ACRES OF LAND THAT IT OWNS IN HARFORD COUNTY, MD. A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME EXPENDED BY OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS IS DEVOTED TO PLANNING THE CONSTRUCTION AND RAISING THE FUNDS NEEDED FOR CONSTRUCTION COSTS. AS OF JUNE 30, 2022, THE ORGANIZATION HAS SPENT MORE THAN $825,000 ON THIS PROJECT. THOSE COSTS ARE INCLUDED IN THE ORGANIZATION'S BALANCE SHEET.
