PET RESCUE & REHOMING & ADOPTION: YOUNG AT HEART RESCUES SENIOR PETS FROM SITUATIONS WHERE THEY ARE IN DANGER OF BEING EUTHANIZED, GETS THEM ALL THE VETERINARY CARE THEY NEED, PROVIDES FOOD AND SHELTER FOR AS LONG AS THEY NEED, AND THEN FINDS THEM LOVING HOMES. WE ARE COMMITTED TO EDUCATING THE PUBLIC TO HOW TO BETTER CARE FOR OLDER PETS, THE IMPORTANCE OF ADOPTING OLDER PETS, AND HELPING SENIOR PETS FIND LOVING HOMES. COMMUNITY OUTREACH, COOPERATING WITH OTHER ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS, AND ADOPTION EVENTS ALL HELP TO BRING ATTENTION TO THE NEED FOR SENIOR PETS TO FIND LOVING HOMES. THE ADOPTION OFFERS FULLY VETTED SENIOR DOGS AND CATS AGED 7 YEARS OR OLDER FOR ADOPTION TO APPROVED ADOPTERS. ANIMALS ARE HOUSED AT OUR CAGELESS ADOPTION CENTER OR IN LICENSED FOSTER HOMES.
SANCTUARY: YOUNG AT HEART'S SANCTUARY PROGRAM ALLOWS SENIOR PETS WITH END-OF-LIFE MEDICAL ISSUES TO ENJOY THE LOVE OF A FAMILY AT THE END OF THEIR LIFE, WHILE YOUNG AT HEART PAYS FOR ALL THE MEDICAL EXPENSES FOR THE SANCTUARY PET. THESE DOGS AND CATS RECEIVE ALL THE MEDICAL SUPPORT, LOVE, AND ATTENTION THEY NEED TO ENJOY THE REST OF THEIR LIVES, CARED FOR BY THEIR SANCTUARY HOMES, AND FINANCIALLY SUPPORTED BY YOUNG AT HEART.
