BROWARD COUNTY INTERGROUP FOLLOWS THE PRINCIPLES OF THE TWELVE STEPS, TWELVE TRADITIONS AND CONCEPTS OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS (A.A.) ALWAYS KEEPING IN MIND THAT OUR COMMON WELFARE COMES FIRST WHILE CARRYING THE MESSAGE TO THE ALCOHOLIC WHO STILL SUFFERS. THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS A CENTRAL A.A. OFFICE AND TELEPHONE ANSWERING SERVICE TO CARRY THE MESSAGE OF A.A. TO THOSE WHO SUFFER FROM ALCOHOLISM. THE ORGANIZATION ACTS AS A CENTRAL CLEARING HOUSE FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION AND LITERATURE TO A.A. GROUPS AND TO THE COMMUNITY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE "TWELVE TRADITIONS" OF A.A. AND GUIDELINES ISSUED BY THE GENERAL SERVICE OFFICE (GSO) OF A.A. THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES UNITY THROUGH SERVICE AMONG MEMBER GROUPS, AND AIDS THE GROUPS IN THEIR COMMON PURPOSE OF CARRYING THE MESSAGE TO THE ALCOHOLIC WHO STILL SUFFERS. APPROXIMATELY 5,088 TELEPHONE CALLS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND A.A. MEMBERS WERE RECEIVED PROVIDING REFERRAL AND MEETING INFORMATION. AN ONLINE DIRECTORY FOR MEETINGS WAS ALSO MAINTAINED. A.A. LITERATURE WAS DISTRIBUTED TO THE PUBLIC ON ALCOHOLISM. APPROXIMATELY 9,000 NEWSLETTERS WERE SENT OUT EITHER ELECTRONICALLY OR BY MAIL AND 1,800 PRINTED DIRECTORIES WERE SOLD. A WEBSITE WAS ALSO MAINTAINED FOR A.A. MEMBERS IN BROWARD COUNTY. THE WEBSITE GETS APPROXIMATELY 6,500 HITS A MONTH FOR MEETINGS.
