APPRENTICESHIP CANDIDATES WORK FOR THEIR RESIDING DISTRICT IT DEPARTMENTS, RECEIVING HANDS-ON INSTRUCTION THAT PROVIDES CONTEXT FOR COURSEWORK. AT THE END OF THE 3-PHASE PROGRAM, COMPLETERS SHOWING THE REQUISITE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES EARN A INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE FROM USDOL DOL
DATASEAM PROVIDES INDUSTRY-STANDARD INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATION FOR INCUMBENT WORKERS SUPPORTING DATASEAM ASSETS IN KENTUCKY K-12 SCHOOLS. DATASEAM PROVIDES COMPUTERS TO PARTICIPATING KENTUCKY K-12 SCHOOLS AS PART OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES. THESE COMPUTERS ARE AGGREGATED INTO A STATEWIDE NETWORK TO CREATE THE DATASEAMGRID, PROVIDING HIGH-PERFORMANCE CLOUD COMPUTING TO HELP FACILITATE THE INNOVATION AND COMMERCIALIZATION OF CANCER THERAPEUTICS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLES BROWN CANCER CENTER. THIS CAPACITY HAS HISTORICALLY REDUCED THE COST AND TIME TO DISCOVERY FOR THE RESEARCH TEAMS AS WELL AS PROVIDE THE COMMONWEALTH AN INFRASTRUCTURE ADVANTAGE IN THE PURSUIT OF ADDITIONAL FEDERAL RESEARCH FUNDING.
