PROMOTED AWARENESS OF THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, INCLUDING POLICE WEEK, A WEEK DEDICATED TO HONOR POLICE OFFICERS AND INCREASE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE DEPARTMENT. ALSO $990,473 WAS SPENT ON COMPLETING CONSTRUCTION OF THE 44,000 SQ. FT TACTICAL VILLAGE FOR USE BY THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT . THIS FACILITY PROVIDES SPACE AND TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT TO TRAIN OFFICERS IN HOW TO BEST RESPOND TO THE MODERN CHALLENGES AND SITUATIONS THAT OFFICERS FACE TODAY.
