THE GREATER BOSSIER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (GBEDF) IS THE LEADERSHIP ORGANIZATION FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN BOSSIER CITY AND BOSSIER PARISH. BEYOND OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS WE ALSO SUPPORT REGIONAL EFFORTS SPONSORED BY SUCH ORGANIZATIONS AS THE CADDO/BOSSIER PORT, BIO-MEDICAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION AND THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AT BPCC. THE MISSION OF THE GBEDF IS TO POSITION BOSSIER TO BE COMPETITIVE IN SECURING NEW JOBS AND INVESTMENT. WE SEEK TO PLACE EMPHASIS ON INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT, ASSISTANCE TO BOSSIER'S RURAL COMMUNITIES, WORK FORCE DEVELOPMENT AND REGIONAL QUALITY OF LIFE ISSUES.THE GBEDF ALSO ADMINISTERS PROGRAMS WHICH ASSIST WITH SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND LEGISLATIVE ISSUES MANAGEMENT.

SUPPORT PROVIDED TO BARKSDALE FORWARD. BARKSDALE FORWARD WORKS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE BY EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE SOCIAL, CULTURAL, AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE SUPPORT FOR: BOSSIER CHAMBER, SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER FILM OFFICE, BOSSIER ARTS COUNCIL, FILM PRIZE FOUNDATION, BPCC FOUNDATION, AND VARIOUS OTHER PROJECTS TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY.
