LOCAL INITIATIVES FOR EDUCATION PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES FOR A PRIMARY SCHOOL IN KENYA, ZIMBABWE, AND LIBERIA. TUITION AND SCHOLAR- SHIPS WERE PROVIDED TO STUDENTS WHOSE PARENTS WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE SCHOOL FEES IN THE COUNTRIES OF SOUTH SUDAN AND KENYA. HIGHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES WERE PROVIDED IN UNIVERSITY SETTINGS IN GHANA, UGANDA AND SOUTH SUDAN. LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE IS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS AND INCREASE ECONOMIC OPPORTUITIES. ACCOUNTABILITY THROUGH ON-SITE MONITORING, RECEIPTED EXPENSES AND PARTNER REPORTING. INDIVIDUALS SERVED - 2,500


LOCAL INITIATIVES FOR EDUCATION PROVIDED HEALTH AND SUSTAINABILITY RESOURCES, INCLUDING FOOD AND WATER, FOR REFUGEES, INTERNALLY DIS- PLACED, AND RESIDENTS IN SOUTH SUDAN, AFGHANISTAN, DJIBOUTI, SOMALIA KENYA, MEXICO AND LIBERIA. THE RESOURCES PROVIDED IMMEDIATE AID IN SEVERLY DROUGHT-STRICKEN AREAS WHERE FOOD SUPPLIES AND WATER WERE NON- EXISTENT. LOCAL INITIATIVES ALSO PROVIDED FOOD SUPPLEMENTS TO LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES. ACCOUNTABILITY THROUGH ON-SITE MONITORING, RECEIPTED EXPENSES AND PARTNER REPORTING. INDIVIDUALS SERVED - 6,500


LOCAL INITIATIVES FOR EDUCATION PROVIDED MEDICAL TRAINING (ORTHO- PLASTIES) FOR THE ORTHOPEDIC DEPARTMENTS OF KENYATTA TEACHING HOSPITAL HOSPITAL IN NAIROBI, KENYA AND MULAGO HOSPITAL, KAMPALA, UGANDA. MEDICAL TRAINING IN ARTHOPLASTIC SURGERY AS WELL AS THE DEVICES AND IMPLANTS WERE PROVIDED TO DOCTORS AT BOTH THE KENYA AND UGANDA HOSPITALS FOR INDIGENT PATIENTS. THE TRAINING ENHANCED THE SURGEON'S SKILLS TO APPROPRIATELY PROVIDE MEDICAL TREATMENT. MEDICAL CAMPS WERE CONDUCTED IN SOUTH SUDAN THROUGH THE PROVISION OF MEDICINES TO LOCAL DOCTORS TO ADMINISTER IN AREAS WITH LIMITED HEALTHCARE. ACCOUNTABILITY THROUGH RECEIPTED EXPENSES AND PARTNER REPORTING. INDIVIDUALS SERVED - 1,300
