THE CHICAGO CF CARE SPECIALISTS NFP FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO THOSE AFFECTED BY CYSTIC FIBROSIS IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA AND TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE BY BEING A MEANINGFUL AND ACTIVE SOURCE OF ASSISTANCE AND ADVOCACY FOR ALL CF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES DEALING WITH THE EVERYDAY CHALLENGE OF CYSTIC FIBROSIS. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH CLINICAL RESEARCH, CLINICAL ASSISTANCE, AND EDUCATION.

IN ACCOMPLISHMENT OF ITS MISSION, THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED IN MULTIPLE RESEARCH AND CLINICAL TRIALS OF VARIOUS DRUGS AND PROTOCOLS FOR THE TREATMENT OF INDIVIDUALS WITH CYSTIC FIBROSIS. THESE CLINICAL TRIALS SYSTEMATICALLY TEST, MONITOR, EVALUATE, AND REPORT ON THE EFFICIACY AND SAFETY OF THESE TREATMENTS ON THOSE BATTLING CF. THROUGH THESE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTS THE CF COMMUNITY BY CONTINUING THE PROGRESS TOWARDS HELPING THOSE WITH CYSTIC FIBROSIS AND THEIR FAMILIES LEAD BETTER LIVES.
THROUGH THE CLINICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES ADVOCACY AND REPRESENTATION FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS PATIENTS WITH MEDICINE AND SERVICE PROCUREMENT, INSURANCE AUTHORIZATIONS, INSURANCE APPEALS AND NETWORKING WITH OTHER RESOURCES. ASSISTANCE IS ALSO PROVIDED WITH RESPIRATORY THERAPY ASSESSMENT AND TEACHING, AS WELL AS, DIETARY EVALUATION AND INTERVENTION.
EDUCATIONAL EVENT TO PROVIDE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON THE STATE OF PROGRESS IN THE TREATMENT OF CYSTIC FIBROSIS TO THOSE DEALING WITH THE DISEASE, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR CAREGIVERS.
