Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
ORPHANS HOPE ASIA: THE CIVIL WAR THAT STARTED FEB. 1 HAS HAD A TREMENDOUS IMPACT AND CAUSED GREAT SUFFERING IN THE COUNTRY. WE HAVE PROVIDED ORPHANS WITH FOOD, CLOTHES, MEDICAL CARE, IMPROVEMENTS IN LIVING CONDITIONS, AND OTHER ESSENTIAL NEEDS. FOOD RELIEF HAS BEEN A TREMENDOUS NEED IN 2021 AND WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HELP MANY ORPHANAGES THAT HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING FOR FOOD AS THEIR NORMAL SOURCES OF SUPPORT HAVE BEEN CUT OFF. IN THE FACE OF SCHOOLS BEING CLOSED WE HAVE HIRED TEACHERS AND ARE TEACHING ENGLISH, MATH, COMPUTERS, AGRICULTURE, LIFE SKILLS AT OUR OPHAN'S HOPE ORPHANAGE. WE IMPROVED LIVING CONDITIONS AND EXPANDED SELF-SUSTAINING FOOD RESOURCES WITH GARDENS AND PLANTING OF FRUIT TREES. CAMPS AND INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER TEAMS WERE NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO CIVIL WAR.
ORPHAN'S HOPE UKRAINE: DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, ACTIVITIES IN UKRAINE WERE REDUCED. WE CONTINUED AS ABLE IN MENTORING, SPORTS, CRAFTS, DEVELOPMENTAL CLASSES, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. WE WERE ABLE TO SHIFT TO ANOTHER BIG ORPHANAGE THE LAST FOUR MONTHS OF THE YEAR AND SETUP AN OFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP THAT ALLOWS OUR STAFF TO COME AND GO MORE FREELY AND WORK WITH CHILDREN ON A MORE CONSISTENT BASIS. WE ALSO HELD IT CLASSES AND CLUBS ONLINE AND AT OUR OFFICE FOR CHILDREN FROM THE ORPHANAGES AND TEENS FROM VULNERABLE FAMILIES. WE HELD A SMALL CAMP THIS YEAR WITH TRAININGS ON TEAM-BUILDING, SPORTS AND SOCCER, CRAFTS, AND SELF DISCIPLINE LESSONS. WE ALSO HELD OUR AT-RISK PROGRAM FOR 10 FAMILIES AND 25 KID TO PROVIDE THEM HELP AND SUPPORT AS PREVENTION. SOME CHILDREN CAME FROM THE ORPHANAGES AND SOME WERE AT SIGNIFICANT RISK OF BEING SENT TO AN ORPHANAGE.
PAKISTAN: WE PROVIDED FOR THE MONTHLY FOOD NEEDS OF A VERY POOR ORPHANAGE WITH 25 CHILDREN. THEY HAD TO GO VERY FAR TO GET WATER FOR THE HOME SO WE DRILLED A FRESH WATER WELL AND ADDED PIPES TO THE COMMUNITY TO HELP WITH THEIR WATER NEEDS AS WELL. SANITATION WAS AN ISSUE SO WE BUILT BOYS AND GIRLS TOILETS AND SHOWERS THAT HAS IMPROVED ORPHANAGE CONDITIONS. WE PURCHASED LAND FOR THE HOPE MARKET PROJECT THAT IS AIMED AT ENABLING THE ORPHANAGE TO BE SELF-SUSTAINING WITH 100% OF PROFITS GOING TO CARE FOR THE CHILDREN, ENABLE THEM TO GO TO SCHOOL, AND IMPROVE HOME CONDITIONS.
