CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENTS: NACEP OFFERED A MIX OF VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON EVENTS IN 2021. THE VIRTUAL OFFERINGS INCLUDED WEEKLY WEBINARS, A VIRUTAL WASHINGTON POLICY SEMINAR, A VIRTUAL TEACHER PIPELINING WORKSHOP, AND A VIRTUAL ACCREDITATION INSTITUTE. WE ALSO OFFERED A VIRTUAL VERSION OF OUR 2021 NATIONAL CONFERENCE. THE VIRTUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS SERVED 600+ EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS FOR LIVE AND ON-DEMAND FORMATS. WE ALSO HELD A NATIONAL CONFERENCE AS AN IN-PERSON EVENT, OCTOBER 24-27 IN ORLANDO. THIS EVENT HAD 450 IN-PERSON ATTENDEES AND 420 LIVE VIRTUAL ATTENDEES. THIS EVENT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER THAN OUR USUAL IN-PERSON NATIONAL CONFERENCE (TYPICALLY 1000+ ATTENDEES) WITH ATTENDANCE IMPACTED BY THE PANDEMIC.
OUTREACH: NACEP STAFF AND VOLUNTEER AMBASSADORS PRESENTED IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY AT MANY STATE AND NATIONAL EDUCATION CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS, CONVENINGS, AND OTHER EVENTS TO INFORM OTHERS ABOUT CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT AND NACEP'S STANDARDS. NACEP WAS FEATURED IN MANY PROMINENT MEDIA OUTLETS. WE HOSTED 38 WEEKLY WEBINARS IN 2021. IN JUNE OF 2021, NACEP HIRED A NEW POSITION WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION AS A DIRECTOR OF STATE ENGAGEMENT. THIS POSITION IS IN CHARGE OF EXPANDING AND IMPROVING THE SUPPORT THAT NACEP OFFERS TO OUR AFFILIATED STATE AND REGIONAL CHAPTERS. THIS POSITION ALSO ASSISTS WITH OTHER TYPES OF STATE ENGAGEMENT INCLUDING STATE QUALITY ASSURANCE MECHANISMS AND POLICY, DIRECT STATE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND POLICY EXPERTISE. IN 2021 WE ADDED FLORIDA AS A NEW STATE CHAPTER. THERE ARE THREE ADDITIONAL STATES INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING CHAPTERS WHICH INCLUDE SOUTH CAROLINA, TEXAS, AND IOWA. IN ADDITION, THIS STAFF MEMBER IS IN CHARGE OF LEADING OUR EFFORTS TO GROW AND DEVELOP DIVERSE TALENT FROM WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY AND TO ENABLE THEM TO BECOME NATIONAL LEADERS IN THE FIELD AND DIVERSE VOICES FROM THE FIELD. THIS IS ALSO PART OF OUR VISION 2025 WORK THAT INVOLVES A MAJOR OVERHAUL OF OUR EXISTING LEADERSHIP ACADEMY TO REFINE ITS ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF MORE DIVERSE VOICES WITHIN NACEP AND IN THE FIELD AS A WHOLE.
ACCREDITATION SERVICES: IN TOTAL, 28 PROGRAMS (19 INITIAL & 9 RE-ACCREDITATION) SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION FOR NACEP ACCREDITATION IN JUNE 2021. THE COMMISSION ALSO IMPLEMENTED A NEW ACCREDITATION ENDORSEMENT PROCESS FOR PROGRAMS THAT UTILIZED THE COLLEGE-PROVIDED FACULTY (CPF) MODEL FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAMMING. DURING THE 2021-22 ACCREDITATION CYCLE 4 PROGRAMS APPLIED FOR THE COLLEGE PROVIDED FACULTY ENDORSEMENT. THE TWELVE-MEMBER NACEP ACCREDITATION COMMISSION MANAGES THE ACCREDITATION PEER REVIEW PROCESS GUIDED BY THE POLICY & PROCEDURES MANUAL. NACEP'S STAFF ASSISTS WITH MEETINGS AND LOGISTICS THAT INCLUDES SCHEDULING MEETINGS, DATA MANAGEMENT, COMPILATION, AND REPORTING. THIS GROUP MET VIRTUALLY MONTHLY WITH ONE IN-PERSON MEETING IN 2021. NACEP CONDUCTED A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AND AN ARRAY OF SERVICES TO SUPPORT OUR WORK AS A PROGRAM ACCREDITOR. THIS INCLUDED TRAINING 70 PEER REVIEWERS FOR THE 2021-22 ONLINE SELF-PACED TRAINING COURSE HOSTED ON OUR LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. WE OFFERED TWO ACCREDITATION INSTITUTES (VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON) WHICH SERVED 120 INDIVIDUALS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THE ACCREDITATION STAFF IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMISSION HOSTED A SERIES OF MONTHLY WEBINARS TO SUPPORT ACCREDITATION VOLUNTEERS AND APPLICANTS.
