THE MISSION OF ST THOMAS COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE IS TO PROVIDE CULTURALLY COMPETENT HEALTHCARE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY, REGARDLESS OF THE ABILITY TO PAY, FOSTER RELEVANT RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES DIRECTED TOWARD ACHIEVING HEALTH INITIATIVES THAT REDUCE HEALTH DISPARITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. CENTRAL TO OUR MISSION IS ACKNOWLEDGING THE ROLE OF INSTITUTIONAL RACISM AS CAUSATIVE OF THESE DISPARITIES. AS SUCH, OUR WORK IS DIRECTED TOWARD BECOMING AN ANTIRACIST INSTITUTION.

THOMAS COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER IS A FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTER (FQHC), COMMUNITY-BASED, NON-PROFIT, PRIMARY CARE HEALTH CLINIC, WHICH PROVIDES AMBULATORY HEALTH CARE SERVICES, INCLUDING SPECIALTY CARE AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING SERVICES. SERVING BOTH INSURED AND UNINSURED PATIENTS, A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF PATIENTS ARE THE MEDICALLY INDIGENT, UNDER-INSURED AND UNINSURED OF THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS AND SURROUNDING AREA(S). THE CLINIC OFFERS A FULL RANGE OF PREVENTION AND PRIMARY CARE SERVICES TO PEDIATRIC AND ADULT PATIENTS, AS WELL AS SCREENING, SURGICAL CONSULTATIONS, SPECIALTY CONSULTATIONS IN OB/GYN, RHEUMATOLOGY, CARDIOLOGY, OPTOMETRY, TELEHEALTH AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH.
