THE ORGANIZATION LAUNCHED A NEW BUSINESS LINE "BRIGHT IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD" NOW TITLED "HELLOADU" IN SAN MATEO COUNTY IN 2020 TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SUPPORT TO LOW-AND MODERATE-INCOME OWNERS WHO SEEK TO CREATE AN ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT ON THEIR PROPERTIES AS AN ASSET BUILDING STRATEGY AND TO CREATE NEW AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING IN THE FABRIC OF EXISTING NEIGHBORHOODS AS AN AFFORDABLE HOUSING CREATION STRATEGY. SINCE THE LAUNCH IN 2020, THE PROGRAM HAS EXPANDED TO ALAMEDA COUNTY, MARIN COUNTY AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, WORKING CLOSELY WITH JURISDICTION'S HOUSING DEPARTMENTS AND BUILDING PLANNING DEPARTMENTS AS WELL AS ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS WHO ARE SEEKING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SUPPORT. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO OPERATE A ROBUST DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR ALAMEDA COUNTY KNOWN AS AC BOOST WHICH IS FUNDED THROUGH THE COUNTY'S MEASURE A1 BOND.
