YOUNG INVESTIGATOR INITIATIVE: THIS INITIATIVE IS A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO INCREASE THE PIPELINE OF RESEARCHERS STUDYING MUSCULOSKELETAL QUESTIONS THROUGH MEANS OF GRANTS, MENTORSHIP, AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT.
PUBLIC/PATIENT EDUCATION: THESE PROGRAMS ARE PRESENTED IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE US ANNUALLY ON DISEASE MANAGEMENT OF ARTHRITIS, A HIGHLY PREVALENT AND DISABLING MUSCULOSKELATAL CONDITION, AND PREVENTION OF OSTEOPOROTIC FRACTURE, WHICH CAN CAUSE LOSS OF INDEPENDENCE AND EARLY MORTALITY.
