MINT THEATER COMPANY FINDS AND PRODUCES WORTHWHILE PLAYS FROM THE PAST (CONTINUED IN SCHEDULE O)THAT HAVE BEEN LOST OR FORGOTTEN. IT IS OUR MISSION TO CREATE NEW LIFE FOR THESE PLAYS THROUGH RESEARCH, DRAMATURGY, PRODUCTION, PUBLICATION, READINGS AND A VARIETY OF ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS.

MINT THEATER COMPANY WAS WELL POSITIONED TO MAKE THE BEST OF THE CHALLENGES FACING THEATERS IN 2021 ARMED WITH A COLLECTION OF TWENTY 3-CAMERA HD VIDEO RECORDINGS OF FULL PRODUCTIONS.IN JULY WE OFFERED THREE PLAYS SIMULTANEOUSLY OVER A TWO-WEEK PERIOD, FREE AND ON-DEMAND. AN ENTHUSIASTIC AUDIENCE WATCHED ENTIRE PLAYS AND RESPONDED WITH GRATEFUL NOTES AND CONTRIBUTIONS, THE PANDEMIC EQUIVALENT OF A STANDING OVATION. THE MAJORITY (77%) OF OUR STREAMING AUDIENCE WAS NEW TO THE MINT. OUR NEXT OFFERING WAS CONFLICT, A POLITICAL COMEDY FROM 1924 BY MILES MALLESON. DURING AN EIGHT-WEEK RUN AT THEATRE ROW IN 2018, CONFLICT PLAYED TO 93% CAPACITY AND WAS ONE OF OUR HIGHEST GROSSING RUNS EVER. (SEE SCHEDULE O) OUR IN-PERSON AUDIENCE WAS 2,848 HOUSEHOLDS (5,471 INDIVIDUALS). IN JUST THREE WEEKS OF STREAMING, WE MORE THAN DOUBLED THE AUDIENCE, TO 6,754 HOUSEHOLDS. STREAMING ENABLED US TO GROW OUR AUDIENCE AND BROADEN OUR IMPACT, AS OUR NEW AUDIENCE WAS SPREAD ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND BEYOND. WE MADE THE DECISION TO GO "ALL IN" WITH OUR STREAMING FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS OF THE FISCAL YEAR.FROM JANUARY 4 THROUGH JUNE 27, 2021, MINT OFFERED FREE ON-DEMAND STREAMING OF SIX SEPARATE PRODUCTIONS. EVERY PLAY WAS AVAILABLE FOR AT LEAST EIGHT WEEKS AND SOME LONGER. EVERY WEEK THERE WERE AT LEAST TWO PRODUCTIONS FROM WHICH TO CHOOSE. WE DOUBLED THE AUDIENCE FOR EACH OF THE SIX PLAYS WE OFFERED. DURING 31 WEEKS IN FY21, TOTAL VIEWING HOURS OF OUR VIDEOS EQUALED 5 YEARS, 96 DAYS, 13 HOURS, 59 MINUTES, 7 SECONDS, PUTTING MINT THEATER COMPANY IN THE TOP 1% OF BANDWIDTH USERS WORLDWIDE ON THE VIMEO PLATFORM. MULTIPLE "PLAYS" WERE RECORDED IN 73 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND EVERY STATE. 78,930 USERS GENERATED 315,893 PAGEVIEWS ON OUR WEBSITE, TRIPLE THE NUMBERS FROM FY19.MINT HAD UNPRECEDENTED AUDIENCE SUPPORT FROM OUR VIEWERS IN FY21. WE RECEIVED CONTRIBUTIONS FROM 1,557 INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTORS-75% WERE MAKING THE FIRST DONATION TO THE MINT.LOST VOICES IN BLACK HISTORYIN JUNE 2020, MINT MADE A COMMITMENT TO ILLUMINATE THE LEGACIES OF BLACK WRITERS FROM THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE AND BEYOND WHO HAVE BECOME LOST OR FORGOTTEN. WE SHARE OUR FINDINGS IN A SERIES OF MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS ENTITLED "LOST VOICES IN BLACK HISTORY", DISTRIBUTED TO OUR EMAIL LIST OF 25,000 SUBSCRIBERS. WE HAVE CELEBRATED THE EXTRAORDINARY LIVES AND CAREERS OF FORGOTTEN PLAYWRIGHTS LIKE MARY P. BURRILL, ONE OF THE EARLIEST BLACK WOMEN PRODUCED ON BROADWAY, AND EULALIE SPENCE, WHO MENTORED JOE PAPP. THE RESPONSE TO OUR SERIES WAS INSPIRING-OUR 12 NEWSLETTERS WERE OPENED 145,000 TIMES BY OUR AUDIENCE. MANY OF OUR READERS WROTE TO EXPRESS THEIR APPRECIATION FOR THE SERIES.
