THE FOUNDATION ASSISTS IN PROMOTING, PLANNING AND PARTICIPATING FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES SPONSORED BY THE ARC ROCKLAND INCLUDING THREE ANNUAL EVENTS: THE BOWLING FUNDRAISER, THE GOLF CLASSIC AND A TASTE OF ROCKLAND - THE LATTER BEING THE ARC'S PREMIERE FUND RAISER FEATURING FARE FROM MORE THAN 40 RESTAURANTS AND BEVERAGE PURVEYORS. MICRO GRANTS ARE DISBURSED BY THE FOUNDATION BASED UPON GRANT PROPOSALS SUBMITTED BY VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS WITHIN THE ARC ROCKLAND. IN RECENT YEARS, FUNDS WERE AWARDED FOR SMART BOARD TECHNOLOGIES, TRANSPORTATION FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO THEIR PLACES OF EMPLOYMENT, SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE TO FACILITATE COMMUNICATION FOR PEOPLE WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS, THE PURCHASE OF CLINICAL THERAPY EQUIPMENT, RENOVATION OF THE AGENCY'S POST HIGH SCHOOL FACILITY IN PEARL RIVER, THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CHILDREN'S RECREATION RESPITE PROGRAM, THE CREATION OF A VOLUNTEER OFFICE THROUGH WHICH COMMUNITY MEMBERS DONATE THEIR TIME TO ASSIST IN VARIOUS INITIATIVES, EVENTS, PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES IN WHICH THE ARC ROCKLAND IS INVOLVED.
