THE MISSION OF THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK, INC.IS TO CONDUCT VOTER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK BY PROMOTING INFORMED AND ACTIVE CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNMENT AND ITS ELECTORAL PROCESS.

THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK IS A 501(C)(3) PUBLIC CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION. IT IS A NONPARTISAN ORGANISATION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE INFORMED AND ACTIVE CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNMENT AND ITS ELECTORAL PROCESS. IT CONDUCTS VOTER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK. THE FOLLOWING ACCOMPLISHMENTS WERE MADE IN FISCAL YEAR 2021:MAJOR PROGRAMMATIC EFFORTS WERE MADE THROUGH THE VOTER AND TELEPHONE INFORMATION SERVICES COMMITTEE THAT CONDUCTS VOTER REGISTRATION EVENTS IN PUBLIC VENUES, AND AT THE INVITATION OF CORPORATIONS, AND HIGH SCHOOLS AND TRAINING SESSIONS TO TRAIN OTHER VOTER REGISTRARS. WE CONDUCTED 149 VOTER REGISTRATION EVENTS, SPOKE AT 120 EVENTS, AND HELD 33 VOTER REGISTRATION TRAINING SESSIONS. THROUGH THESE EVENTS, WE REACHED OVER 16,000 NEW YORKERS. MANY OF OUR SPEAKING EVENTS WERE HELD VIRTUALLY, ALLOWING US TO REACH NEW YORKERS IN ALL BOROUGHS WITH TIMELY INFORMATION ON VOTING IN THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTIONS AND THE INTRODUCTION OF RANKED CHOICE VOTING IN THE 2021 LOCAL PRIMARY ELECTIONS. VOLUNTEERS AND OFFICERS STAFF THE TELEPHONES TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO THOSE CALLING ABOUT POLLING SITE LOCATIONS, ABSENTEE BALLOTS, AND CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THEIR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES.WE CONTINUED TO USE VIRTUAL PLATFORMS TO CONDUCT OUR PROGRAMS, INCLUDING A VIRTUAL PUBLIC PROGRAM ON THE PATH TO THE PRESIDENCY.
