THE YOUNG PEOPLE'S LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION, INC. AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS, AND STIPENDS TO INDIVIDUALS THAT DEMONSTRATE STRONG ABILITIES BUT LACK FINANCIAL MEANS TO ATTEND SCHOOL OR PARTICIPATE IN EDUCATIONALLY-ENRICHING EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAMS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO AWARDS GRANTS DIRECTLY TO SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY-ORIENTED 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHER ENTITIES THAT PROVIDE EDUCATION-RELATED PROGRAMS OR SERVICES THAT INDIVIDUALS CAN PARTICIPATE IN AS A VEHICLE FOR FUTURE SUCCESS. IT IS THE PRIMARY VISION OF THE FOUNDATION THAT ANY FUNDS AWARDED, WHETHER TO AN INDIVIDUAL OR TO AN ORGANIZATION, BENEFITS THOSE FROM UNDERREPRESENTED, UNDERPRIVILEGED, OR UNDERSERVED BACKGROUNDS TO HELP THE YOUNG LEADERS OF TOMORROW GAIN THE EDUCATION AND SKILLS NEEDED TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS. (SEE SCHEDULE O)WE ALSO ARE IN THE PROCESS OF PARTNERING WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND COLLEGE PREP. ONE OF THE FOUNDATION'S LARGEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS WAS FUNDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A LOCAL LIBRARY IN UPSTATE NEW YORK'S FINGER LAKES REGION. THAT LIBRARY HAS BEEN GREATLY BENEFICIAL TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND THEY HAVE DEVELOPED MANY PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON YOUNG PEOPLE AND EDUCATION.
