THE YOUNG PEOPLESS LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO PEOPLE WITH ABOVE AVERAGE ABILITIES BUT WITHOUT ANY FINANCIAL MEANS TO ATTEND SCHOOL. MANY HAVE HAD DIFFICULT CHILDHOODS BECAUSE THEY OFTEN COME FROM HOUSEHOLDS IN WHICH THE PARENT (S) HAVE DRUG AND OR ALCOHOL ISSUES. MANY OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS WINNERS THEMSELVES HAVE HAD TO GO THROUGH DIFFICULT TIMES AND HAVE STRAIGHTENED THEMSELVES OUT AND ACHIEVED SUCCESS. ONLY PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GIVEN BECAUSE THE FOUNDATION BOARD BELIEVES THAT EACH RECIPIENT MUST WORKHARD AND EARN WHAT THEY RECEIVE. MOST OF THEM HAVE.
