CONTINUED THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION TO PRESERVE THE TRADITION OF WOODEN BOAT BUILDING IN OYSTER BAY. OUR OPERATING PROCEDURES CONTINUED AND PROGRESS WAS MADE IN 2021 ON CONSTRUCTION OF THE REPLICA OF THE HISTORIC OYSTER DREDGE "IDA MAY". WE CONTINUED TO OPERATE WITH A PART TIME PAID SHIPWRIGHT AND VOLUNTEERS, AND WERE ABLE TO MOVE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HISTORIC STRUCTURE FORWARD, BUT PROGRESS WAS AGAIN SIGNIFICANTLY SLOWED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC AND DUE TO THE SHIPWRIGHT'S UNAVAILABILITY. WE WERE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SIGNIFICANT STATE OF NEW YORK GRANT THAT PROVIDES A MAJOR PORTION OF THE FUNDS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT. THE VESSEL WAS APPROXIMATELY 91% COMPLETE AS OF YEAR END.
