CT SILC WRITES A THREE YEAR PLAN TO GIVE RESIDENTS WITH DISABILITIES FULL ACCESS TO THE CENTERS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING AND TO PROMOTE INDEPENDENT LIVING THROUGH OUTREACH AND TRAINING. OUR PLAN EXPANDS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT INCREASE AND SUPPORT INDEPENDENT LIVING IN CT. DURING THE 2022-2023 PERIOD, ACTIVITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED HOSTING A CANDIDATE FORUM ON DISABILITY ISSUES EDUCATING THE CILS AND THE PUBLIC ABOUT SUPPORTED DECISION MAKING AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO GUARDIANSHIP PROVIDING INTENSE LEADERSHIP TRAINING TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND FAMILY MEMBERS THROUGH THE PARTNERS IN POLICYMAKING TRAINING PROGRAM HOSTING THE CT CROSS DISABILITY LIFESPAN ALLIANCE PROVIDING TRAINING ON EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND FIRST RESPONDERS PROVIDING DEI TRAINING FOR CIL STAFF SUPPORTING WORK GROUPS TO ADDRESS ISSUES OF TIMELY EQUIPMENT REPAIR FOR WHEELCHAIRS AND FOR ACCESSIBLE DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT.
