PROVIDE URBAN MINISTRY TO THE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED IN THE HARTFORD AREA. SIMPLICITY, DIGNITY AND RESPECT ARE TO BE CHARACTERISTICS OF OUR SERVICES TO THE HUNGRY, HOMELESS AND NEEDY POPULATION.

SOUP KITCHEN & DAY SHELTER: PROVIDE FREE MEALS TO THE POOR AND HOMELESS, PROVIDE DAY SHELTER TO THE HOMELESS, PROVIDE PERSONAL COUNSELING AND LANGUAGE SUPPORT. ON AVERAGE, THE SOUP KITCHEN SERVES 190 INDIVIDUALS PER DAY AND SERVES APPROXIMATLEY 111,200 MEALS PER YEAR.


JUBILEE HOUSE: LOCATED AT 40 CLIFFORD STREET, JUBILEE HOUSE PROVIDES ENGLISH LITERACY AND SOCIAL INTEGRATION SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME HARTFORD RESIDENTS, ESPECIALLY IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES, IN ORDER FOR THEM TO ACQUIRE EMPLOYMENT, ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY WITHIN SOCIETAL NETWORKS, SUSTAIN INDEPENDENCE, AND BECOME ACTIVE CITIZENS. JUBILEE HOUSE HAS TWO PRINCIPAL PROGRAM AREAS: ESOL (ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES) INSTRUCTION; AND THE REFUGEE & IMMIGRANT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. THE BUILDING IS ALSO HOME TO WOMEN TRANSITIONING FROM SHELTER TO INDEPENDENT LIVING: 191,751. 23 LINCOLN STREET: PROVIDE LONG-TERM HOUSING FACILITY THAT OFFERS HOMELESS MEN JOB TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL SKILLS TO ASSIST THEM TO LIVE INDEPENDENT OF SUPPORT SYSTEMS: 50,317. 88-90 CHESTNUT STREET: PROVIDE SHELTER FOR HOMELESS MALES: 43,950. OTHER PROGRAMS: 16,095.


KID'S CAFE: PROVIDE AN EVENING MEAL TO CHILDREN IN LOCAL ORGANIZED AFTER- SCHOOL PROGRAMS. ON AVERAGE, THE KID'S CAFE SERVES 250 STUDENTS PER DAY AND 102,600 MEALS PER YEAR.


ED O'NEIL HOUSE: LOCATED AT 107 ALBANY AVENUE AND 74 CHESTNUT STREET, THE ED O'NEIL HOUSE OFFERS TWENTY-SEVEN UNITS OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING. RESIDENTS ARE THE WORKING POOR AND FAMILIES AND/OR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE LIVING IN TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND PREPARING TO MOVE INTO PERMANENT HOUSING.
