SHELTER - FORMED IN 1975, PROTECTORS OF ANIMALS, INC. (POA) IS A 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT RESCUE. POA IS PRIMARILY A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION WITH A NO-KILL PHILOSOPHY RESCUING STRAY, ABUSED AND ABANDONED DOGS AND CATS, WHILE PROMOTING SPAYING/NEUTERING IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TO REDUCE PET OVERPOPULATION. POA ALSO STRIVES TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON PROPER ANIMAL CARE AND RESPONSIBLE COMPANION ANIMAL OWNERSHIP.
CLINIC - POASPAY! IS A HIGH-VOLUME, LOW COST SPAY NEUTER CLINIC WHICH OPENED IN 2017 TO SUPPORT SPAY NEUTER NEEDS IN THE GREATER HARTFORD AREA. POASPAY! ALSO PROVIDES BASIC VACCINATIONS AND MICRO-CHIPPING. SINCE OPENING, POASPAY! HAS HELPED NEUTER MORE THAN 5,000 ANIMALS THEREBY REDUCING CAT AND DOG OVERPOPULATION, ABUSE, AND ABANDONMENT.
