GOD'S OUTREACH IS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT TANGIBLY EXPRESSES ITS LOVE AND CONCERN FOR PEOPLE IN NEED OF FOOD IN MADISON AND ESTILL COUNTIES BY PROVIDING SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD MONTHLY. SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD ASSISTANCE - WE CURRENTLY SERVE OVER 1800 FAMILIES EACH MONTH WITH SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD. MADISON COUNTY BACKPACK PROGRAM - CHILDREN IN NEED ARE CONFIDENTIALLY IDENTIFIED BY THEIR TEACHERS, AND RECEIVE A RETURNABLE BACKPACK FILLED WITH USEFUL FOODS SUCH AS RAVIOLI, SOUPS, FRUIT SNACKS, CHIPS, CEREAL, POPCORN, AND OTHER SNACKS, FOR THE WEEKEND. WE SERVE 22 SCHOOLS WITH APPROXIMATELY 3500 BACKS PACKS FULL OF EASY TO PREPARE FOOD EACH MONTH. COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM - THE COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM (CSFP) WORKS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF ELDERLY PEOPLE AT LEAST 60 YEARS OF AGE BY SUPPLEMENTING THEIR DIETS WITH NUTRITIOUS USDA COMMODITY FOODS SUCH AS GRAIN AND MILK PRODUCTS, PROTEIN, FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. CROCK POT FOR KIDS - TEACH CHILDREN HOW TO COOK USING A CROCK POT. CHILDRENS' SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAMS - SUPPLY FOOD TO LOCAL CHILDREN DURING THE SUMMER WHEN SCHOOL LUNCH IS NOT AVAILABLE.
