ENLACE'S CORE FOCUS IS OUR CHURCH AND COMMUNITY PROGRAM, WHICH TRAINS CHURCH LEADERS TO UNDERSTAND AND LIVE OUT THE BIBLICAL BASIS OF THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH IN THEIR IMPOVERISHED COMMUNITIES. WE TRAIN AND COACH CHURCH LEADERS TO DISCOVER THEIR RESOURCES AND TO PARTNER EFFECTIVELY WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS TO IDENTIFY AND IMPLEMENT SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS TO POVERTY. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES TRAINING IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: BIBLICAL BASIS OF GODS MISSION, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, PROJECT IDENTIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT, NETWORKING, AND FUNDRAISING. IN 2020, AS THE PANDEMIC BECAME A GLOBAL HEALTH AND ECONOMIC CRISIS, ENLACE CHANGED ITS PLANS. AS AN ORGANIZATION, WE PIVOTED AWAY FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES TO SUPPORTING LOCAL CHURCH AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO PROVIDE FOOD AID, AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT, BUSINESS LOANS, AND EMOTIONAL CARE. IN 2021, WE CONTINUED THESE INITIATIVES WHILE ALSO RESTARTING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES SUCH AS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, HOUSING, ECO-STOVES AND COMPOSTING LATRINES. ENLACE U.S.A. PROVIDED FUNDING TO AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS IN CENTRAL AMERICA AND NEPAL TO ACCOMPLISH OUR ABOVE STATED PURPOSE IN EL SALVADOR, GUATEMALA, NICARAGUA AND NEPAL. IN 2021, WE TRAINED 1,004 LOCAL LEADERS AND FUNDED 89 INITIATIVES IN 262 COMMUNITIES THAT IMPACTED APPROXIMATELY 36,829 PEOPLE. THE FOLLOWING WAS ACCOMPLISHED ON A GLOBAL LEVEL DURING 2021. FOOD AID:LOCAL VOLUNTEERS WORKED WITH 134 COMMUNITIES TO PROVIDE 3 ROUNDS OF NUTRITIONAL RELIEF AID TO 3,842 FAMILIES IN CENTRAL AMERICA AND NEPAL.FARMING AID:LOCAL VOLUNTEERS WORKED WITH 146 COMMUNITIES TO PROVIDE 2 ROUNDS OF AGRICULTURAL ASSISTANCE TO 2,191 FAMILIES IN CENTRAL AMERICA. FAMILIES WERE SUPPLIED WITH AGRICULTURAL INPUTS TO HELP CULTIVATE UP TO TWO ACRES OF CORN, BEANS, AND SORGHUM FOR PERSONAL CONSUMPTION AND TO SELL TO GENERATE FAMILY INCOME.REBUILDING BUSINESS AND FAMILY INCOME:LOCAL VOLUNTEERS WORKED WITH 8 COMMUNITIES TO LAUNCH 130 FAMILY FARM BUSINESSES WITH CHICKENS, GOATS OR PIGS IN CENTRAL AMERICA AND NEPAL. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTSLOCAL VOLUNTEERS WORKED WITH 16 COMMUNITIES TO PROVIDE 227 ADDITIONAL SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN CENTRAL AMERICA AND NEPAL. PROJECTS INCLUDED NEW HOMES, COMPOSTING LATRINES, ECO-STOVES, ELECTRIFICATION PROJECTS AND CLEAN WATER INITIATIVES.****ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN EL SALVADOR***IN EL SALVADOR, LOCAL VOLUNTEERS WORKED WITH COMMUNITIES TO PROVIDE 3 ROUNDS OF NUTRITIONAL RELIEF AID TO 3,212 FAMILIES (16,000 PEOPLE) IN 134 COMMUNITIES, 2 ROUNDS OF AGRICULTURAL ASSISTANCE FOR 2,117 FAMILIES (10,585 PEOPLE) IN 142 COMMUNITIES, LAUNCHED FAMILY CHICKEN FARM BUSINESSES IN 2 COMMUNITIES, BUILT 11 NEW HOMES AND 49 COMPOSTING LATRINES.
