THE PROJECT GENESIS HOME BUYER TRAINING SERIES IS PROVIDED IN ENGLISH, SPANISH, AND KHMER, REACHING >800 PARTICIPANTS EACH YEAR. MORE THAN 60% HAVE INCOMES OF 80% OR LESS OF THE AREA MEDIAN INCOME. NEARLY 8,000 HOUSEHOLDS HAVE PURCHASED THEIR FIRST HOME AFTER COMPLETING THE TRAINING.
FOR TRAINING SERIES GRADUATES, MVHP PROVIDES 1:1 HOME BUYER COUNSELING FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST. THIS INCLUDES CREDIT BUILDING, SAVINGS PLANS, BUILDING THE TEAM (AGENT, LENDER, INSPECTOR), AND GUIDANCE ON ELIGIBILITY FOR PROGRAMS SUCH AS DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE AND SECTION 8 TO HOMEOWNERSHIP.
