PROMOTION OF PEACE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE. PEACE DEVELOPMENT FUND IS A PUBLIC FOUNDATION THAT PARTNERS WITH COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE MOVEMENTS TO PROVIDE GRANTS, TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, WORKING WITH DONORS AND GRANTEES TO BUILD A PEACEFUL WORLD.

THROUGH PDFS COMMUNITY ORGANIZING GRANTS PROGRAMS, WE MAKE GRANTS TO US COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS WORKING ON ISSUES OF SOCIAL JUSTICE, INCLUDING ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE, ECONOMIC JUSTICE, PEACE, HUMAN HEALTH & WELFARE, OFTEN IN AREAS OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THERE ARE FEW GRANTMAKING RESOURCES SUCH AS IOWA, SOUTH DAKOTA, LOUISIANA OR THE SOUTHWEST. PDFS COMMUNITY ADVISED, DESIGNATED GRANTS AND DONOR ADVISED FUNDS BRING DONORS, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZERS AND FUNDERS TOGETHER FOR GRANTMAKING AND COMMUNITY BUILDING, STRENGTHENING RELATIONSHIPS ACROSS SECTORS OF THE SOCIAL JUSTICE MOVEMENTS. PDF FISCAL SPONSORSHIP EXTENDS OUR MISSION AND PROGRAM; WE SPONSOR ON AVERAGE 47 GROUPS EACH YEAR. WITH OFFICES IN CALIFORNIA AND MASSACHUSETTS, WE OFFER ALL OUR PROGRAMS TO GROUPS ACROSS THE US, AND FISCAL SPONSORSHIP TO THOSE BASED IN THE US SUPPORTING INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS. 135 TOTAL GRANTS WERE MADE.
