THE LOWER SAVANNAH REGIONAL INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE CORPORATION, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "CORPORATION," WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE A WIDE RANGE OF INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE TO THE CITIZENS OF THE LOWER SAVANNAH REGION, WHICH INCLUDES AIKEN, ALLENDALE, BAMBERG, BARNWELL, CALHOUN, AND ORANGEBURG COUNTIES; TO PROMOTE AND CONTRIBUTE TO EASE OF ACCESS TO INFORMATION ABOUT RESOURCES WHICH WILL CONTRIBUTE TO IMPROVED LIVABILITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PEOPLE WITHIN THE LOWER SAVANNAH REGION; TO SERVE AS CENTER FOR COORDINATION AND DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION REGARDING HEALTH, LONG-TERM CARE, PUBLIC BENEFITS, AGING, DISABILITIES, EMPLOYMENT, TRANSPORTATION, AND OTHER RELATED INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE IN THE LOWER SAVANNAH REGION AND TO ENGAGE IN THOSE ACTIVITIES WHICH ARE IN FURTHERANCE OF, OR RELATED TO, THE PURPOSES HEREIN STATED.
