PARTNERS WITH MEMBER LAND CONSERVANCIES, POLICY MAKERS, AND LEADING CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE STATE TO CHAMPION A COMMON GOAL OF INCREASING THE PACE & QUALITY OF MICHIGAN LAND PROTECTION.

HEART OF THE LAKES PROVIDES A SUITE OF TRAINING AND MENTORING SERVICES TO STRENGTHEN THE EFFECTIVENESS OF OUR MEMBERS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP THEM REACH THE HIGHEST LEGAL, ETHICAL AND TECHNICAL STANDARDS IN LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION.


FARMLAND PRESERVATION ADVOCACY: HEART OF THE LAKES ENGAGES IN ADVOCACY TO MAINTAIN AND STRENGTHEN THE CONSERVATION OF WORKING FARMLAND THAT PROVIDE A CLEAR PUBLIC BENEFIT FOR THE PEOPLE OF MICHIGAN. HEART OF THE LAKES KEEPS MEMBERS, SUPPORTERS, AND PARTNERS INFORMED ABOUT FARMLAND PRESERVATION ISSUES, OPPORTUNITIES TO IDENTIFY AND ENGAGE IN FARMLAND POLICY, AND IDENTIFIES AND DEVELOPS POLICY STRATEGIES TO ADDRESS PERMANENT FUNDING FOR FARMLAND PRESERVATION IN MICHIGAN.
