PROVIDED FOUNDATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND ORGANIZING PROGRAMS FOR 104 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AFTER SCHOOL AT FOUR OAKLAND PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS AND FOR AN ADDITIONAL 14 YOUTH IN A CROSS CAMPUS YOUTH ORGANIZING COUNCIL. STUDENTS LED RESEARCH CAMPAIGNS TO DEVELOP A STUDENT JUSTICE PLATFORM INFORMED BY THE PRIORITIES AND NEEDS OF 1,400+ STUDENTS ACROSS OUSD, ADVOCATED TO IMPLEMENT OAKLAND YOUTH VOTE, AND RAN STUDENT STORES AT FREMONT AND CASTLEMONT HIGH SCHOOLS IN ALIGNMENT WITH STUDENT-LED CULTURE CHANGE CAMPAIGNS.
SERVED AS LEAD AGENCY AT CASTLEMONT HIGH SCHOOL TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY SCHOOL SERVICES THAT ENGAGED 402 STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-12 THROUGH EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM ACTIVITIES AND COLLEGE, CAREER AND COMMUNITY READINESS INITIATIVES. 279 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN STIPENDED CASTLEWORKS LINKED LEARNING PATHWAY CAREER READINESS OPPORTUNITIES DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR AND SUMMER, AND OKF OFFERED ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND INTERVENTION FOR 337 STUDENTS INCLUDING TUTORING, DUAL ENROLLMENT AND CREDIT RECOVERY.
OKF WAS THE ANCHOR ORGANIZATION OF THE OAKLAND YOUTH VOTE (OYV) COALITION AND SPEARHEADED ORGANIZING, FUNDRAISING AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS TO FULLY IMPLEMENT OAKLAND YOUTH VOTE, WHICH PASSED WITH 67% OF THE PUBLIC VOTE AS MEASURE QQ IN NOV 2020.
