THE HAWAII PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION HAS CONDUCTED 27 CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS AND PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY INTERESTED IN PSYCHOLOGY INCLUDING A PROGRAM ON DIVERSITY ISSUES IN PSYCHOLOGY PRACTICE. THESE PROGRAMS WERE MADE AVAILABLE VIA WEBINAR TO PSYCHOLOGISTS LOCATED ON ALL ISLANDS AND RURAL AREAS OF THE STATE. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO HAD AN INSTRUMENTAL ROLE IN HELPING MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS TRANSITION TO TELEHEALTH-ONLY SERVICES AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PROVIDED A NUMBER OF STRESS MANAGEMENT CLASSES TO HEALTH CARE PROVIDER AND FIRST RESPONDER GROUPS STATEWIDE. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO ESTABLISHED A PRO BONO PROGRAM OFFERING FREE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES TO THOSE IN THE HAWAII COMMUNITY WHO LOST THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE DUE TO COVID-19 LAYOFFS.
