ADVANCE THE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF ASIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES THROUGH RESEARCH, PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE, EDUCATION AND POLICY.

ALLIANCE - THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED FROM THE NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ON THE IMPACT OF ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER COMMUNITIES. THE ORGANIZATION PAID RESEARCHERS, INTERPRETERS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE U.S. TO RECRUIT 5,000 ASIAN AMERICAN AND 1,300 PACIFIC ISLANDER PARTICIPANTS FOR THE STUDIES. STUDY PARTICIPATION IS AVAILABLE IN 13 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES AND THE RESEARCH ARTICLES ARE EXPECTED TO PUBLISH IN 2022.
MEMEMBERSHIP - AAPA IS A PROFESSIONAL HOME TO APPROXIMATELY 847 STUDENTS, 517 PROFESSIONALS AND 12 EMERITUS MEMBERS.
JOURNAL - PUBLICATION OF THE ASIAN AMERICAN JOURNAL OF PSYCHOLOGY, THE RESEARCH JOURNAL FOR AAPA. THE JOURNAL IS PUBLISHED QUARTERLY. THE NUMBER OF NEW SUBMISSIONS FOR 2021 WAS 160. IN ADDITION, AAJP RECEIVED 137 SUBMISSIONS OF REVISED MANUSCRIPTS IN 2021. OF THESE MANUSCRIPTS, 54 HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED AND 88 REJECTED, WITH THE REMAINDER STILL CONTINUING IN THE EDITORIAL REVIEW PROCESS.
ANNUAL CONVENTION - EACH YEAR THE AAPA HOLDS A CONVENTION EITHER IN PERSON OR ONLINE TO BRING TOGETHER MEMBERS AND PROMOTE SCHOLARLY WORK AROUND ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER COMMUNITIES AND MENTAL HEALTH. IN 2021 THE CONVENTION WAS HELD ONLINE AND THE THEME WAS EXPANDING OUR BANYAN TREE: INCLUSIVITY, AND INTERSECTIONALITY IN SCHOLARSHIP.
