THE MONTROSE CHRISTMAS PARADE ASSOCIATION MANAGES AND CO-ORDINATES THE ANNUAL MONTROSE CHRISTMAS PARADE ON THE FIRST SATURDAY OF DECEMBER EACH YEAR, ON HONOLULU AVENUE IN MONTROSE, CALIFORNIA. THE PARADE MARKS THE BEGINNING OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON FOR THE COMMUNITY OF MONTROSE AS WELL AS THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES OF .LA CRESCENTA, SUNLAND. TUJUNGA. LA CANADA, BURBANK, GLENDALE, AND PASADENA. THE PARADE PROVIDES A SHOWCASE FOR THE LOCAL YOUTH GROUPS, SCHOOL BANDS, NOT-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL POLICE AND FIRE OFFICIALS, AND ELECTED OFFICIALS. APPROXIMATELY 10,000 PEOPLE LINE HONOLULU AVENUE, SOMETIMES 6 TO 8 DEEP, TO SEE THEIR NEIGHBORS, CHILDREN, AND OTHERS FROM THEIR COMMUNITY; AND TO HEAR MORE THAN 10 BANDS PLAY CHRISTMAS CAROLS; AND TO GET A GLIMPSE OF SANTA CLAUS.
