CREATE NOW PROVIDES YOUTH WITH HIGH-QUALITY ARTS PROGRAMS, ENRICHING OPPORTUNITIES, AND CARING ARTISTS WHO OFTEN OPERATE AS MENTORS. WE MAINLY FOCUS ON YOUTH WHO ARE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, IN FOSTER CARE, OR EXPERIENCING OTHER FORMS OF CHALLENGES.

CULTURAL JOURNEYS: EACH YEAR, CREATE NOW ARRANGES FOR THOUSANDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE TO ATTEND CULTURAL EVENTS SUCH AS CONCERTS, PLAYS, AND MUSEUMS. WITH COVID HITTING US HARD WE ADJUSTED THE BEST WE COULD TO REACH OUT TO MANY IN THE COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE SAFE EVENTS. WE CURATE THE EXPERIENCE AND BRING THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN TO A VARIETY OF WORLD-CLASS VENUES. FOR MANY, THIS IS THEIR FIRST EXPERIENCE ATTENDING A LIVE PERFORMANCE. THIS INCLUDES OUR YEARLY HOLIDAY PARTY. OVER 75 YOUTH, FROM AGES 1-20, FROM VARIOUS AGENCIES WERE IN ATTENDANCE. EVERY SINGLE KID WAS ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ART RELATED ACTIVITIES, ENJOYED A DELICIOUS MEAL, AND RECEIVED A GIFT FROM SANTA, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY WE ALL HAD FUN! NUMBER OF YOUTHS SERVED WAS 259.
DIGITAL ARTS: CREATE NOW HAS CREATED A VIRTUAL AFTER-SCHOOL DIGITAL ARTS WORKSHOP FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.THESE AFTER SCHOOL WORKSHOPS ALSO LEAD INTO CREATIVE CAREER SKILLS. LOCATIONS INCLUDED ARE VENICE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, USC HYBRID, AND GRANT HIGH SCHOOL. THESE WORKSHOPS ARE 100% FREE AND SPONSORED FOR OUR YOUTH BY VARIOUS OUTLETS SUCH AS APPLE, MARY PICKFORD FOUNDATION, AND ROMWE. NUMBER OF YOUTH SERVED WAS 64.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS. CREATE NOW PROVIDES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ARTISTS FROM ALL DISCIPLINES WHO WANT TO SHARE THEIR CREATIVE GIFTS WITH YOUTH THROUGHOUT THE REGION. WE CONNECT PASSIONATE VOLUNTEERS TO YOUTH, ESPECIALLY THOSE LIVING IN HOMELESS FACILITIES, FOSTER GROUP HOMES, TRANSITIONAL-LIVING CENTERS, ETC. REFERRALS ARE BASED ON LOCATIONS, SCHEDULES, AND OTHER FACTORS TO FIND THE BEST MATCH. CREATE NOW HELPS DEVELOP LESSON PLANS, PROVIDES ART SUPPLIES, INSTRUMENTS, AND OTHER RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE VOLUNTEERS AND YOUTH. LAST YEAR WE HAD OVER 10 WORKSHOPS IN A VARIETY OF ARTS DISCIPLINES IN FOSTER GROUP HOMES, COMMUNITY CENTERS, AND TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FACILITIES. THE NUMBER OF YOUTHS SERVED WAS 120.
