THE BLANK THEATRE IS COMMITTED TO THE ENRICHMENT OF HOLLYWOOD'S CULTURAL LIFE THROUGH PRODUCTION OF FIRST-RATE THEATRE, EDUCATION OF CURRENT AND FUTURE ARTISTS, AND CREATION OF GROUNDBREAKING NEW WORKS FOR THE THEATRICAL REPERTOIRE. WE MAINTAIN A FIERCE COMMITMENT TO EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY ON OUR STAGE AND WE INFUSE OUR WORK WITH THE NOTION THAT LIVING, BREATHING GLIMPSES INTO THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE ARE A CRUCIAL PART OF THE CULTURAL DISCOURSE OF OUR COMMUNITY AND SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE.

LIVING ROOM SERIES- WE SELECTED, DRAMATURGED, DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED 16 NEW PLAYS BY PLAYWRIGHTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD, OFFERED FREE TO THE PUBLIC ONLINE. OVER 350 ARTISTS SERVED AS WELL AS 1400 AUDIENCE MEMBERS, 500 OTHER PLAYWRIGHTS SERVED BY HAVING THEIR PLAYS READ AND EVALUATED FOR PRESENTATION BY OUR VOLUNTEER STAFF.
YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL- THE ONLY NATIONWIDE PROFESSIONAL COMPETITION FOR PLAYWRIGHTS 9 TO 19. OVER 300 ARTISTS AND 1800 AUDIENCE MEMBERS SERVED INCLUDING 12 WINNING PLAYWRIGHTS AND AN ADDITIONAL 305 APPLICANTS. THE FESTIVAL WAS [RESENTED ONLINE FOR FREE IN JULY 2022.
UCROSS + THE BLANK THEATRE FUTURE OF PLAYWRIGHTING PRIZE - NATIONAL COMPETITION FOR UNIQUE AND DIVERSE WRITERS UNDER 30. THE INAUGURAL YEAR WE CHOSE 1 WINNER AND 2 FINALISTS. THE WINNER RECEIVED A $2500 PRIZE AND A 2 WEEK ALL EXPENSES PAID WRITERS RETREAT OPPORTUNITY AT UCROSS FOUNDATION RANCH IN WYOMING. FINALISTS RECEIVED $500 PRIZE EACH.
