TEN THOUSAND THINGS AWAKENS THE CREATIVE SPIRIT OF AUDIENCES AND ARTISTS BY BRINGING ESSENTIAL AND EXCEPTIONAL THEATER TO PEOPLE FROM ALL BACKGROUNDS AND LIFE EXPERIENCES.TEN THOUSAND THINGS BALANCED A RETURN TO IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING WITH A CONTINUATION OF VIRTUAL OPTIONS IN OUR 21-22 SEASON TO ALLOW FOR VARYING LEVELS OF SAFETY AND COMFORT FOR PATRONS. THE SEASON KICKED OFF WITH A PRODUCTION OF SHAKESPEARE'S THE COMEDY OF ERRORS MADE AVAILABLE FOR BOTH REDUCED-CAPACITY IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE AND VIDEO VIEWING. WE FOLLOWED WITH THE RELEASE OF OUR FIRST FILM, HANDPRINTS, WRITTEN BY GRETA OGLESBY, WITH SCREENPLAY BY E.G. BAILEY. IN THE WINTER WE PRODUCED A VIDEO-STREAMED OFFERING OF COMMUNITY-WRITTEN NEW WORKS IN TEN THOUSAND VOICES, FOLLOWED BY LIVE-STREAMED READINGS OF SOTTO VOCE, BY NILO CRUZ. THE SEASON FINISHED WITH A FULLY -PRODUCED RE-MOUNT OF THUNDER KNOCKING ON THE DOOR, BY KEITH GLOVER, WHICH HAD RECEIVED ONLY A SHORT RUN BEFORE BEING CLOSED DOWN BY THE COVID PANDEMIC IN 2020. THIS PRODUCTION WAS OFFERED FOR LIVE-VIEWING AS WELL AS VIDEO STREAMING AND WAS COMPLEMENTED BY THE PRODUCTION OF A CAST ALBUM, MADE AVAILABLE TO PATRONS VIA CDS AND ELECTRONIC DOWNLOADS. IN ALL WE WORKED WITH OVER 55 ARTISTS AND REACHED OVER 4,500 AUDIENCE MEMBERS THROUGH OUR PROGRAM OFFERINGS.
