HIRE LAS YOUTH IS A PROGRAM DEDICATED TO PUTTING YOUNG ADULTS TO WORK, ENSURING THEY HAVE "FIRST TIME" JOB EXPERIENCE THAT WILL SET THEM ON THE PATH OF LIFETIME EARNERS. THIS YEAR, WE ARE COMMITED TO PROVIDING 15,000 JOBS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGES 14 TO 24 WHO LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES. YOUTH ARE RECRUITED THROUGH LOCAL SCHOOLS,THE CITYS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM, THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT,COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. IN PREPARATION FOR JOB PLACEMENT, YOUTH ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN A WORK READINESS CERTIFICATE ENDORSED BY THE LA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, THE CITY WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD, AND THE PROFESSIONALS IN HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATION (PIHRA).
