THE EXHIBITS INCLUDED FULL SCALE AIRCRAFT DISPLAY MODELS ACTUAL AIRCRAFT ENGINES SPACE EXHIBITS AND VIDEOS. TWO AIRCRAFT WERE AVAILABLE FOR VISITORS TO ACTUALLY SIT IN THE COCKPIT. TOUR GROUPS BOTH LARGE AND SMALL WERE WELCOME.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH: EDUCATION IS A SIGNIFICANT FOCUS OF SCHAF. PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC CLOSURE THE FOUNDATION WORKED WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE EITHER A ONE-DAY MUSEUM EXPERIENCE OR MULTIPLE DAY CLASSES TAILORED TO THE LEVEL AND AGES OF THE STUDENTS BUT GENERALLY FOLLOWING THE STEM CURRICULUM. AFTER COVID RESTRICTIONS WERE LIFTED WE RESTARTED THIS OUTREACH AND BEGAN RE-ENGAGING STUDENTS IN OUR FACILITIES.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: AEROSPACE RELATED EVENTS ARE A MAJOR PART OF THE MUSEUM PROGRAM. THERE WAS A "CELEBRITY LECTURE" HELD ONE SATURDAY A MONTH UNTIL THE PANDEMIC CLOSURE AND THEN RESTARTED UPON REOPENING. CELEBRITY SPEAKERS COVERED A WIDE RANGE OF AEROSPACE TOPICS RANGING FROM WORLD WAR II FIGHTER PILOTS TO TEST PILOTS TO ENGINEERS INVOLVED IN DEVELOPING AIRCRAFT OR SPACECRAFT AND MORE. EVEN DURING THE PANDEMIC WE CONTINUED TO PUBLISH VIDEOS ON VARIOUS AIRCRAFT DEVELOPMENTS TO SEND TO OUR MEMBERS AND PUBLISH ON THE INTERNET FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN OUR VISIBILITY IN THE COMMUNITY.
