THE FRIENDS OF THE TEMECULA LIBRARY IS A GROUP OF DEDICATED PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT THE LIBRARY AND SEEK TO PROMOTE ITS WELFARE. THEY ARE INTERESTED IN PRESERVING ITS PLACE AS A SOURCE OF FREEDOM BY ENRICHING THE LIBRARY'S RESOURCES AND BY MAKING ITS SERVICES BETTER KNOWN TO THE COMMUNITY.

THE FRIENDS OF THE TEMECULA LIBRARY PRIMARY SOURCE OF INCOME IS THE OPERATION OF TWO LIBRARY BOOKSTORES: ONE AT GRACE MELLMAN COMMUNITY LIBRARY AND ONE AT THE RONALD H. ROBERTS TEMECULA PUBLIC LIBRARY. THESE BOOKSTORES TAKE IN DONATIONS OF USED BOOKS AND RESELL THEM TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. INCOME RAISED FROM THE BOOKSTORES, MEMBERSHIPS,AND DONATIONS IS USED TO SPONSOR VARIOUS PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
THE GRACE MELLMAN COMMUNITY LIBRARY AND RONALD H. ROBERTS TEMECULA PUBLIC LIBRARY HAVE A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN, TEENS AND ADULTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE LARGEST AND MOST POPULAR OF THESE PROGRAMS IS THE 'READING BY DESIGN SUMMER READING PROGRAM'. THE CALIFORNIA SUMMER READING PROGRAM IS A PROJECT OF THE CALIFORNIA LIBRARY ASSOCIATION, SUPPORTED BY THE US INSTITUTE OF MUSEUM AND LIBRARY SERVICES UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY ACT. FRIENDS OF THE TEMECULA LIBRARY IS A SPONSOR OF THIS AND ALL OF THE LIBRARY PROGRAMS.
