THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG DEPENDENCE OF THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY(NCADD-SFV) IS A COMMUNITY BASED SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER (SUD)PROGRAM, CERTIFIED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AND CONTRACTED WITH LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO PROVIDE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT TO INDIVIDUALS SUFFERING FROM ALCOHOL AND DRUG ADDICTION, CONSISTING OF INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING, AND DRUG TESTING. THESE SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADULTS 18 YEARS AND OLDER. THE ORGANIZATION HAS A SEPARATE COUNTY CONTRACT TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY-BASED PREVENTION AND EDUCATION SERVICES TO SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS.THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES COURT CASE MANAGEMENT AND REFERRAL SERVICES (CCMS) FOR INDIVIDUALS CONVICTED OF A DRIVING-UNDER-THE-INFLUENCE (DUI) OFFENSE IN SPECIFIC COURTS WITHIN THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT SYSTEM. CCMS REFERS INDIVIDUALS ORDERED TO ATTEND A STATE LICENSED DUI TREATMENT PROGRAM AND MONITORS THE COMPLIANCE OF THESE INDIVIDUALS FOR THE COURTS. THE ORGANIZATION CHARGES THE INDIVID

THE ORGANIZATION HAS CONTRACTS WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES. ONE CONTRACT PROVIDES PREVENTION AND EDUCATION SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY REGARDING ALCOHOLISM AND SUBSTANCE USE AND ABUSE. THE OTHER CONTRACT IS A DRUG MEDI-CAL CONTRACT PROVIDING OUTPATIENT TREATMENT SERVICES FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE, RANGING IN AGE FROM 18 AND ABOVE.


THE ORGANIZATION HAS VERBAL AGREEMENTS WITH FOUR COURTHOUSES IN THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT SYSTEM. THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT REFERS INDIVIDUALS CONVICTED OF A DUI TO ATTEND AN ALCOHOL EDUCATION PROGRAM. THE ORGANIZATION REFERS THE INDIVIDUAL TO AN OUTSIDE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AND MONITORS THE COMPLIANCE OF THESE INDIVIDUAL'S CASES FOR THE COURTS. THE ORGANIZATION CHARGES A FEE FOR THIS REFERRAL AND MANAGEMENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL'S CASE AND FOR SOME,THIS MAY BE BASED ON A SLIDING SCALE.
