ONCE THE DOGS ARE TRAINED, THEY ARE PLACED WITH A BLIND INDIVIDUAL WHO IS IN NEED OF A TRAINED GUIDE DOG.

THE MISSION OF EYE DOG FOUNDATION FOR THE BLIND IS TO ACQUIRE AND BREED PUPPIES THAT ARE SUITABLE TO BE TRAINED AND DEVELOPED AS GUIDE DOGS. ONCE THE DOGS ARE TRAINED, THEY ARE PLACED WITH A BLIND INDIVIDUAL WHO IS IN NEED OF A TRAINED GUIDE DOG.THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES AN ONGOING GUIDE DOG TRAINING PROGRAM FOR A RANGE OF ONE(1) TO TEN (10) DOGS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES INDIVIDUAL TRAINING OF THE DOG ALONGSIDE THE BLIND INDIVIDUAL WHO IS GOING TO RECEIVE THE GUIDE DOG. AT THE END OF THE TRAINING PERIOD,EACH DOG IS EVALUATED TO SEE IF THEY CAN GRADUATE TO FULL-TIME PLACEMENT WITH THE BLIND INDIVIDUAL OR IF BEHAVIOR OR PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS PREVENT THE DOG FROM BEING PLACED INTO SERVICE. THE DOGS THAT DO NOT ACHIEVE THE QUALIFICATIONS TO BE PLACED INTO SERVICE ARE PLACED ON AN ADOPTION LIST.
