THE OTHER 4 PROGRAMS ARE AN AFTER-SCHOOL (CURRENTLY CLOSED), A WEEKLY SUPPORT GROUP FOR SPANISH-SPEAKING NEIGHBORHOOD WOMEN, AN ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER, AND A FOOD PANTRY.

TRINITY PLACE SHELTER IS A 10-BED TRANSITIONAL SHELTER WHICH HAS BEEN OPEN FOR 14 YEARS AND PROVIDES TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR LGBTQ+ YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS (AGES 18-24), A POPULATION THAT IS GRAVELY UNDERSERVED AND AT-RISK. TPS PROVIDES A YEAR-ROUND SAFE PLACE FOR RESIDENTS TO SLEEP, PREPARE MEALS, STORE BELONGINGS; TO RECEIVE SOCIAL SERVICES (REFERRALS FOR GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE, EMERGENCY AND LONG-TERM MEDICAL CARE, JOB/EDUCATION/HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES, INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL-GROUP MENTAL-HEALTH COUNSELING, AND FINANCE/SAVINGS COUNSELING, TO FACILITATE THE PERMANENT ENDING HOMELESSNESS. FUNDING IS RECEIVED FROM PUBLIC DONATIONS, FOUNDATION AND GRANTS, AND CITY/STATE GRANTS.
MUJERES EN PROGRESO IS A WEEKLY SUPPORT GROUP FOR SPANISH-SPEAKING WOMEN WHO LIVE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND WHO MAY BE NEW TO THE UNITED STATES. THE GROUP MEETS WEEKLY AND DISCUSSES INDIVIDUAL CONCERNS AND PARTICIPATES IN PROGRAMMING REGARDING HEALTH AND WELLNESS, DOMESTIC ABUSE, AND AIDS PREVENTION, TOGETHER WITH ACCESS TO LOCAL SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES. THE PROGRAM IS FUNDED VIA SMALL GRANTS FROM FOUNDATIONS AND PHILANTHROPIC GROUPS.
COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER - FOR OVER 25 YEARS, A SEAT-DOWN AND TAKE-OUT THANKSGIVING MEAL HAS SERVED OVER 1000 NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS. IN 2021, BECAUSE OF COVID, THE MEAL WAS ALL TAKE-OUT. THE PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS OF CASH AND DONATED FOOD.
