JI BERKELEY TRAGEDY FUND WAS SET UP TO ASSIST FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF THE VICTIMS OF A TRAGIC ACCIDENT WHICH TOOK THE LIVES OF SEVERAL YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN AND SEVERELY INJURED NUMEROUS OTHER YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN IN BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA, ALL OF WHOM WERE FROM IRELAND ON J1 VISA STATUS STUDYING IN THE US, WERE OF IRISH DESCENT, OR WERE FRIENDS OR FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE VICTIMS.
