Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
WE PROMOTE AND ACTIVELY SUPPORT TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN OF COMMUNITY CATS. WE SUPPORT RETAINING ANIMALS IN THEIR HOMES AND KEEPING THEM OUT OF SHELTERS BY HELPING THEIR GUARDIANS WITH OTHER THAN SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
COMMUNITY CAT/FERAL CAT TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN IN 2021 WE SPAYED/NEUTERED, VACCINATED AND MICROCHIPPED 2688 COMMUNITY CATS THROUGH TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN (TNR). TO MAKE THIS CARE POSSIBLE FOR THESE UNOWNED FREE-ROAMING CATS, WE SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF CARE BY OVER 67%, CHARGING THE PUBLIC ONLY 45 PER CAT; OUR DIRECT COSTS ARE OVER 135 PER CAT. KEEPING THE COST OF THIS SURGERY AND BASIC CARE FOR THESE CATS ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC IS CRITICAL TO PREVENTING THE BIRTH OF COUNTLESS LITTERS THAT MAY OTHERWISE END UP IN AREA SHELTERS.
COMPANION ANIMAL SPAY & NEUTER WE USE SLIDING-SCALE PRICING FOR SPAY/NEUTER AND PREVENTIVE CARE TO SUPPORT THE CREATION OF A SUSTAINABLE PROGRAM. WE WANT TO ENSURE ONGOING ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE VETERINARY SURGERY FOR THOSE THAT CANNOT PAY FULL PRICE, WHILE HAVING CLIENTS THAT CAN AFFORD TO COVER THE FULL COST OF CARE CONTRIBUTING WHAT THEY CAN. MANY OF OUR CLIENTS QUALIFY FOR OUR LOWEST PRICING TIER, WHICH DOES NOT FULLY COVER OUR COSTS. BY COVERING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT LOW-INCOME CLIENTS CAN PAY AND OUR ACTUAL COST, WE ENSURE THAT EVERY CAT AND DOG IN NEED THAT WE CAN HELP HAS ACCESS TO OUR SERVICES, REGARDLESS OF THEIR CARETAKERS' ABILITY TO PAY.
URGENT SURGERY IN ADDITION TO SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES, WE ALSO PERFORM URGENT SURGERIES SUCH AS ENUCLEATIONS, CYSTOTOMIES, LIMB AMPUTATIONS AND OTHER LIFE-SAVING CURATIVE PROCEDURES. AS AN ORGANIZATION, WE HAVE MADE A COMMITMENT TO NOT TURN AN ANIMAL AWAY IF IT IS A SURGERY WITH WHICH WE CAN HELP. WE ARE AN EXCEPTIONALLY EFFICIENT SURGICAL AND ANESTHESIA TEAM; THIS EFFICIENCY, IN COMBINATION WITH CLOSE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR VETERINARY AND ANIMAL WELFARE PARTNERS, ENABLES US TO KEEP THE COST OF CARE AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. DESPITE PROVIDING TOP-NOTCH CARE AT THE LOWEST POSSIBLE COST, SOME GUARDIANS CANNOT AFFORD THE EXPENSE, SO WE SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF SERVICES TO ENSURE WE CAN PROVIDE THEIR PETS WITH THE SURGERY THEY NEED.
