THE MARSH DEVELOPS NEW PERFORMANCE. IT ENCOURAGES AND SUPPORTS ALL STAGES OF THIS DEVELOPMENT BY PROVIDING ARTISTS OF ALL AGES WITH A PERFORMANCE VENUE, EDUCATION AND A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT. THE MARSH'S SAN FRANCISCO AND BERKELEY PROGRAMS DEVELOP NEW WORK THROUGH DEVELOPING WORK SERIES AND FULL-LENGTH PREMIERES, ONGOING PERFORMANCES AND CLASSES. THE MARSH HAS REDEFINED AND DEEPENED THE GENRE OF SOLO PERFORMANCE, MAKING IT THE PREMIERE PLACE TO DEVELOP SOLO PERFORMANCE. THE MARSH IS THE RECIPIENT OF MANY PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS. ADMINISTRATIVE HOME TO THE MARSH, THE SAN FRANCISCO LOCATION PRESENTS OVER 330 PERFORMANCES ANNUALLY IN ITS TWO THEATERS, WHICH INCLUDES MAIN STAGE PREMIERES OF NEW FULL-LENGTH PERFORMANCES, ONGOING CLASSES TO DEVELOP NEW PERFORMANCES, PERFORMANCE INITIATIVE AND DEVELOPING WORK PERFORMANCE PROGRAMMING. EAST BAY HOME TO THE MARSH, THE BERKELEY LOCATION ANNUALLY PRESENTS OVER 100 PERFORMANCES IN ITS THEATERS, WHICH INCLUDES MAIN STAGE PREMIERES OF NEW FULL-LENGTH PERFORMANCES, ONGOING CLASSES TO DEVELOP NEW PERFORMANCES, AND DEVELOPING WORK PERFORMANCE PROGRAMMING. ADDITIONALLY, THE MARSH BERKELEY HOUSES A CABARET SPACE. THE MARSH'S YEAR-ROUND YOUTH PROGRAM PROVIDES AFTER-SCHOOL CLASSES AND CAMPS FROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGE THROUGH TEENS; BOTH ONSITE AT THE MARSH SAN FRANCISCO AND AT SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT SITES. IN 2021 THE PROGRAM PRESENTED APPROXIMATELY 79 CLASSES, AS WELL AS TEEN PROGRAMMING.
