THE PUBLICATION OF BOOKS BY MARGINALIZED WRITERS- ESPECIALLY WOMEN AND WOMEN OF COLOR. TO PRODUCE EVENTS FOR OUR AUTHORS THAT INCREASE THEIR CONNECTION TO THEIR COMMUNITIES AND MAKE THEIR WORK KNOWN IN THEM.

MARKETING AND OUTREACH: 1) COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND DEVELOPMENT - THE MAJOR WORK FOR THE MARKETING TEAM WAS TO SET UP AND/OR PLAN THE EVENTS AND PROGRAMS LISTED ABOVE. IT IS OUR MISSION TO MAKE PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS PART OF PROGRAMMING, THUS WE KNOW WE REACH DEEP INTO COMMUNITY. WE USE THESE PARTNERSHIPS AS A BASIS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA OUTREACH, AS WELL AS COMMUNICATING TO THE VARIOUS COMMUNITY MEETINGS AND MEETING WITH COMMUNITY VENUE ADMINISTRATORS. THIS REQUIRES AN INTENSE AMOUNT OF WORK, EVEN MORE SO WITH VIRTUAL COMMUNICATION, FOR MARKETING STAFF, BUT IT IS THE FOUNDATION ON WHICH A SUCCESSFUL MULTI-CULTURAL EVENT IS BUILD. AUNT LUTE BOOKS CONTINUES ITS COMMITMENT TO LITERACY BY DONATING CARTONS OF BOOKS TO LOCAL BAY AREA LIBRARIES, PRISONS AND COUNTY JUVENILE HALLS. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO BUILD COMMUNITY THROUGH OUR BI-MONTHLY MEETINGS WITH OTHER NON-PROFIT LITERARY ORGANIZATIONS.
PERMISSIONS: OUR PERMISSIONS SALES CONTINUE TO GROW, WHICH IS A TESTAMENT TO HOW IMPORTANT OUR PUBLICATIONS ARE, AS AUTHORS, EDITORS AND ANTHOLOGISTS CONTINUE TO SEEK OUR PERMISSION TO INCLUDE EXCERPTS IN THEIR NEW WORK CONFERENCES.
EVENT PROGRAMMING: 1) STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF- WITH OUR STAY TRUE TO YOUR SHELF READING WE PROVIDED A SPACE TO CELEBRATE THE 40+ YEARS AUNT LUTE HAS SPENT PUBLISHING AND SUPPORTING LGBTQ+ VOICES. 2) HOME IN THE BAY- "HOME IN THE BAY" BOOKLET - RELEASE OF ONLINE BOOK THAT INCLUDES ENTRIES FROM THE PARTICIPANTS OF OUR SOGOREA TE'LAND TRUST, POOR MAGAZINE, POETS READING THE NEWS, AND THE ANTI-EVICTION MAPPING PROJECT, ORGANIZATIONS DOING RADICAL WORK AROUND OUR RELATIONSHIPS TO PLACE, LOCATION, AND TO EACH OTHER, 3) VISIONING OUTSIDE THE PARAMETERS OF REALISM- A VIRTUAL PANEL CENTERING BLACK WOMEN WRITERS ON THE POWER OF LITERATURE TO ENVISION FUTURES OUTSIDE THE LIMITATIONS OF RACISM AND PATRIARCHY.
