PROVIDING QUALITY, AFFORDABLE SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR PERSONS WITH BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NEEDS IN MARICOPA COUNTY.

THE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTERS TWO MAIN HOUSING PROGRAMS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITH BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NEEDS AND ARE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS.FEDERAL HOUSING GRANTS AS A HUD GRANTEE, ABC IS AWARDED APPROXIMATELY $20 MILLION ANNUALLY THROUGH THE CONTINUUM OF CARE TO INDIVIDUALS WITH BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NEEDS. THESE GRANTS ARE COMPRISED PRIMARILY OF TENANT BASED RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS, WHICH PROVIDE PERSONS WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS AND/OR OTHER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NEEDS THAT ARE PROGRAM ELIGIBLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOCATE APPROPRIATE HOUSING THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. SIMILAR TO A VOUCHER BASED PROGRAM. THIS ALLOWS THE PARTICIPANT TO OBTAIN HOUSING THAT BEST FITS THEIR INDIVIDUAL NEEDS GEOGRAPHICALLY AND FINANCIALLY. AHCCCS HOUSING PROGRAM ABC MANAGES THE $27 MILLION STATE-WIDE HOUSING PROGRAM FOR THE AHCCCS ADMINISTRATION. THE HOUSING PROGRAM CONSISTS OF TENANT BASED RENTAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH SCATTERED SITES AND COMMUNITY LIVING PLACEMENT. IT ALSO PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY ONE $1 MILLION ANNUALLY FOR EVICTION PREVENTION AND MOVE-IN ASSISTANCE.AS OF THE END OF 2022, ABC PROVIDES HOUSING FOR OVER 4,500 INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.
