HABITAT USES VOLUNTEER LABOR TO CONSTRUCT HOMES FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES DURING THE YEAR. 8 HOMES WERE COMPLETED AND TRANSFERRED TO HOMEOWNERS AND THE HOME OF A PREVIOUSLY OWNED HABITAT HOME PURCHASED IN THE PRIOR YEAR WAS SOLD TO A NEW HABITAT HOMEOWNER. OUR ORGANIZATION HAS STARTED A DEVELOPMENT FOR A SUBDIVISION CALLED LEGACY POINTE. PHASE I OF LEGACY POINTE HAS 18 LOTS, 8 OF WHICH HAVE BEEN USED TO BUILD HOMES WHICH WERE TRANSFERRED TO HOMEOWNERS DURING FISCAL 2022. WE EXPECT TO DEVELOP 77 TOTAL LOTS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS FOR USE IN BUILDING AN ENTIRE HABITAT SUBDIVISION. 1,675 VOLUNTEERS HAVE CONTRIBUTED OVER 9,151 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO HOME CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. WE ALSO REHABILATED SEVERAL HOUSES FOR LOW INCOME HOMEOWNERS UNDER AN AGING IN PLACE PROGRAM.
HABITAT PROVIDES HOMEOWNER SERVICES TO EXISTING AND PROSPECTIVE HOMEOWNERS THROUGH IDENTIFICATION OF FAMILIES FOR HOMEOWNERSHIP AND THROUGH CLASSES TO HELP IMPROVE FINANCIAL SITUATIONS, REPAIR CREDIT, LOWER DEBT, AND MANAGE MONEY IN AN EFFORT TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL HOMEOWNERS.
HABITAT OPERATES A RESTORE THAT RECEIVES DONATED MERCHANDISE FOR RESALE TO THE PUBLIC. RESTORE PROVIDES ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO ALLOW HABITAT TO CARRY OUT ITS PURPOSE OF PROVIDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO LOW INCOME HOMEOWNERS. OVER 969 VOLUNTEER HOURS BY 238 VOLUNTEERS HAVE BEEN CONTRIBUTED TO THE RESTORE OPERATIONS.
