2022 CONFERENCE - THE 2022 NLN CONFERENCE IN CLEVELAND AND WAS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CLEVELAND CLINIC. A LIVE IN-PERSON MEETING AT THE INTERCONTINENTAL CLEVELAND TOOK PLACE THURSDAY NOVEMBER 17 THROUGH SUNDAY NOVEMBER 20. THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOCUSED ON LYMPHATIC SURGERY, WOUND CARE, AND BREAST SURGERY RELATED TO LYMPHEDEMA. THIS CONFERENCE PROGRAM WAS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND AS IT WAS A TRUE COLLABORATION BETWEEN PHYSICIANS AND THERAPY CLINICIANS. IT ADDITIONALLY SERVED AS SPRINGBOARD FOR THE NLN POSITION PAPER ON LYMPHATIC SURGERIES, WHICH IS IN DEVELOPMENT. BREAKOUT SESSIONS WERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ATTENDEES TO LEARN AND PRACTICE CLINICAL SKILLS PERTINENT TO LYMPHEDEMA MANAGEMENT. - THE NLN EXPERT CLINICIAN PROGRAM SUCCESSFULLY CONTINUED INTO ITS 2ND YEAR. THIS PROGRAM WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2021 AND IS A COMPREHENSIVE AND RIGOROUS BATTERY OF CLINICAL ASSESSMENTS INTENDED FOR THE ADVANCED CLINICIAN WHO POSSESSES A HIGH LEVEL OF EXPERTISE. THE PROGRAM WELCOMED ENGAGED, PASSIONATE CLINICIANS IN THE ETERNAL PURSUIT OF ELEVATING THEIR CLINICAL LOGIC AND INTERVENTIONAL SKILLS. WE ARE VERY PROUD TO CONTINUE THE NLN EXPERT CLINICIAN BECAUSE IT DIRECTLY WORKS TOWARDS OUR MISSION OF INSPIRING CLINICIANS TO PROVIDE WORLD-CLASS CARE FOR PEOPLE WITH LYMPHEDEMA BY PROMOTING BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES AND STANDARDS OF CARE.
LYMPHEDEMA EDUCATION, COMMUNITY RESOURCES & PATIENT SERVICES - THE NATIONAL LYMPHEDEMA NETWORK (NLN) HOSTS REGULAR CLINICAL FOCUS GROUPS (CFG) WHERE CLINICIANS CAN MEET VIRTUALLY TO DELVE INTO SPECIFIC AREAS OF INTEREST. THE LYMPHEDEMA LEADERSHIP PROGRAM WAS CREATED IN 2023 TO INCREASE THE AVAILABILITY OF LYMPHEDEMA TREATMENT. THE NLN EXPERT CLINICIAN PROGRAM WAS CREATED IN 2021 TO ELEVATE THE STANDARDS OF CARE BY OFFERING A SPECIAL DESIGNATION TO CLINICIANS WHO PASS A COMPREHENSIVE BATTERY OF CLINICAL ASSESSMENTS. AT THE CENTER OF THE NATIONAL LYMPHEDEMA NETWORK (NLN) SERVICES ARE THE PATIENTS AND THERAPISTS WHO NEED CURRENT INFORMATION ABOUT LYMPHEDEMA, LYMPHATIC CONDITIONS, AND RELATED DISORDERS. TO THIS END, THE NLN PUBLISHES VIRTUAL NEWSLETTERS WITH LYMPHEDEMA RELATED ARTICLES, INDUSTRY RELATED UPDATES, AS WELL AS UPDATES ON CURRENT EVENTS. VIRTUAL RESOURCES TO THE COMMUNITY INCLUDE POSITION PAPERS, SOCIAL MEDIA BLOGS ON FACEBOOK & LINKEDIN, AND AN EXTENSIVE LYMPHEDEMA DIRECTORY OF LYMPHEDEMA TREATMENT CENTERS THAT ALLOW PATIENTS TO CONNECT WITH QUALIFIED LYMPHEDEMA CLINICIANS. ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE VIA AN 800-PHONE LINE AND EMAIL ACCOUNT WHERE INQUIRIES CAN BE MADE. THE NLN IS ALSO VERY DYNAMIC AND LISTENS TO THE EXPRESSED NEEDS OF MEMBERSHIP AND THE COMMUNITY, AND RESPONDS BY CREATING SPECIAL EVENTS.
GARMENT PROGRAM - THE NATIONAL LYMPHEDEMA NETWORK OFFERS A GARMENT PROGRAM WHERE CLINICIAN & ORGANIZATION LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP CAN SUBMIT APPLICATIONS FOR PATIENTS WHO REQUIRE COMPRESSION GARMENTS HOWEVER DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE COVERAGE OR THE FINANCIAL MEANS TO PURCHASE. IN CONJUNCTION WITH GENEROUS INDUSTRY SPONSORS AND A DEDICATED VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE OF EXPERTS, THE NLN PROVIDES A PLETHORA OF MEDICALLY NECESSARY COMPRESSION GARMENTS TO PATIENTS IN NEED.
