ACAP PROVIDES EDUCATION THROUGH COMMUNITY EXPERIENCES FOR THOSE WITH AUTISM (ASD) UTILIZING MASS TRANSPORTATION, COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND SAFETY SKILLS.

CODE: 624120 DURING THE SUMMER OF 2021, ACAP WAS ABLE TO HOLD SUMMER DAY CAMP WITH SEVERAL SAFETY MEASURE IN PLACE DO TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD). THE ACAP YEAR ROUND MENTOR PROGRAM WAS CATEGORIZED AS ESSENTIAL BY DHS. THEREFORE IT CONTINUED TO SERVE YOUNG ADULTS WITH (ASD), THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OF 2020. THIS PROGRAM RAN M-F 7:30AM-5:30PM FOR THE YEAR OF 2020. SERVICE PROVIDED BY ACAP INCLUDED LIFE SKILLS, COMMUNITY INTEGRATION AND COMMUNITY RECREATION. OUR GOALS INCLUDE EDUCATING THOSE WITH ASD ABOUT COMMUNITY AND EDUCATING THE FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY ABOUT ASD IN A SAFE AND INCLUSIVE MANNER.
