DURING THE SUMMER OF 2020, ACAP WAS NOT ABLE TO HOLD SUMMER DAY CAMP DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD). THE ACAP YEAR ROUND MENTOR PROGRAM WAS CATEGORIZED AS ESSENTIAL BY DHS. THEREFORE IT CONTINUED TO SERVE YOUNG ADULTS WITH (ASD), THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OF 2020. THIS PROGRAM RAN M-F 7:30AM-5:30PM FOR THE YEAR OF 2020. SERVICE PROVIDED BY ACAP INCLUDED LIFE SKILLS, COMMUNITY INTEGRATION AND COMMUNITY RECREATION. OUR GOALS INCLUDE EDUCATING THOSE WITH ASD ABOUT COMMUNITY AND EDUCATING THE FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY ABOUT ASD IN A SAFE AND INCLUSIVE MANNER.
