TO EMPOWER VOLUNTEERS TO SERVE OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES, MEET HUMANITARIAN NEEDS, ENCOURAGE PEACE AND PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING THROUGH THE WEST MARIN LIONS CLUB.

THE WEST MARIN LIONS CLUB HAS NOW RESUMED MONTHLY IN-PERSON MEETINGS. AS A RESULT, RENEWED ENERGY AND INTEREST WITHIN THE CLUB HAS BEEN IGNITED. SEVERAL NEW MEMBERS HAVE BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE WEST MARIN LIONS CLUB; THEY HAVE BROUGHT NEW IDEAS AND A FRESH PERSPECTIVE. THE LIONS CONDUCTED VISION SCREENING WITHIN THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT AND IDENTIFIED SEVERAL CASES WHICH WERE REFERRED FOR ADDITIONAL VISION SERVICES. SIGNIFICANT FUNDING FROM THE LIONS CLUB OF WEST MARIN CONTINUES TO BE DIRECTED ANNUALLY TO YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAMMING AT THE WEST MARIN COMMUNITY SERVICES. AS IS THE CASE EACH YEAR, THE LIONS COLLECTED EYEGLASSES TO SEND TO OUR DISTRICT EYEGLASS WAREHOUSE CENTER; THESE EYEGLASSES ARE REPAIRED AND REPURPOSED FOR DISTRIBUTION TO PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO AFFORD NEW EYEWARE.THE WEST MARIN LIONS CLUB BEGAN ACTING AS FISCAL SPONSOR FOR THE NEWLY CREATED SEMBRANDO VIDA PROJECT, AN ACTIVITY THAT IS FOCUSED ON GROWING FOOD AND COMMUNITY WITHIN THE LOCAL LATINO COMMUNITY. THROUGH THE FISCAL SPONSORSHIP ARRANGEMENT, THE WEST MARIN LIONS CLUB IS HELPING THE PROJECT TO MOVE FORWARD AND GROW.THE LIONS CLUB OF WEST MARIN CONTINUED OUR ANNUAL GIVING TO SEVERAL TOMALES HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE BOOSTERS CLUB AND THE CLASS OF 2025 FOOD FUNDRAISER HELD AT WESTERN WEEKEND. FUNDING WAS ALSO PROVIDED TO THE LOCAL PRESCHOOL TO HELP WITH THEIR WESTERN WEEKEND FUNDRAISING EFFORTS. ADDITIONALLY, SUPPORT WAS PROVIDED TO NATIONAL PROGRAMS (LION IN SIGHT AND LIONS CANINE COMPANIONS FOR INDEPENDENCE.)THE WEST MARIN LIONS SPONSORED THE ANNUAL WESTERN WEEKEND PARADE WHICH TOOK PLACE IN JUNE. ATTENDANCE AT THIS YEARS PARADE MATCHED PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS WITH A LARGE CROWD ENJOYING THE FESTIVITIES.
