RRP - PROVIDE FREE OR LOW COST IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES TO INDIGENT OR LOW INCOME IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES AND HELP THEM MOVE ON THROUGH PERMANENT RESIDENCY ON THE PATH TOWARD CITIZENSHIP. PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE TO OVER 3,500 CLIENTS INCLUDING APPLICATIONS FOR RESIDENCY, DACA, ASYLUM, WORK PERMIT, NATURALIZATION, FAMILY PETITIONS, FINGER PRINTING,TPS, UVISA AND OTHER LEGAL SERVICES. THIS IS THE REFUGEE RIGHTS PROGRAM (RRP).
HAITI EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND (HERF) - PROVIDED SUPPORT TO 2,000 UNIVERSITY STUDENTS UNIFA. CONTINUING TO SUPPORT HAITI RADIO STATION WITH NATIONAL COVERAGE. SUPPORT OF THE ARISTIDE FOUNDATION BY FUNDING ITS MOBILE SCHOOLS PROJECTS. THIS PROJECT HAS GIVEN EMPLOYMENT TO 102 HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE GRADUATES WHO SERVE AS TEACHERS AND ALSO HELPED BUILD SHELTERS IN FOUR REFUGEE CAMPS. CONTINUING HELPING 1,000+ VICTIMS OF NATURAL DISASTERS, PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE CONFEDERATION OF HAITIAN WORKERS. PROVIDED FUNDS FOR MICRO-CREDIT AND OTHER COOPERATIVE, SMALL BUSINESS VENTURES ESPECIALLY INVOLVING FOOD PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING OF LOCALLY GROWN CROPS FOR LOCAL CONSUMPTION.
CDE - A YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM DESIGNED TO EDUCATE AND DEVELOP LANGUAGE SKILLS AND LEADERSHIP AMONG THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY VIA CAPACITY BUILDING. THIS PROGRAM ADDRESSES THE NEED TO DEVELOP THE TOOLS AND SKILLS TO ENABLE IMMIGRANTS TO ACCESS TRAINING FOR CITIZENSHIP PREPARATION IN ORDER TO FULLY PARTICIPATE IN U.S. SOCIETY. INCLUDES LEADERSHIP, HOME BASED ENGLISH PROGRAM, CITIZENSHIP CLASSES, SOCIAL SERVICES, IMMIGRATION COMMUNITY FORUMS, SHARING KNOW YOUR RIGHT RED CARDS AND HEALTH FAIRS.
